Carriage House School

The Carriage House alternative classroom provides current and past shelter residents with the opportunity to continue or complete their high school education in a non-traditional setting. image of cute little boy with books and appleEstablished in partnership with the KPRDSB, The Carriage House is an extension classroom of PACE and is supervised by PACE teacher Simon Weigh, with assistance from YES employee Karen Scott and other staff and volunteers.

Carriage House students can complete any Ontario Ministry of Education mandated core course and a number of options, including art, music, construction, and healthy living, moving them towards high school matriculation. Several individuals have completed their high school requirements at The Carriage House and have crossed the stage with other Kawartha Pine Ridge Secondary School students at graduation ceremonies.
