Carriage House School
The Carriage House alternative classroom provides current and past shelter residents with the opportunity to continue or complete their high school education in a non-traditional setting. Established in partnership with the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board (KPR), the Carriage House is an extension classroom of Peterborough Alternative and Continuing Education (PACE) and is supervised by a KPR teacher, with assistance from YES outreach staff.
Carriage House students can complete any Ontario Ministry of Education mandated core course and a number of options, including art, music, construction, and healthy living, moving them towards high school completion. Several individuals have completed their high school requirements at the Carriage House and have crossed the stage with other KPR students at graduation ceremonies.
