Carriage House School

The Carriage House is an alternative classroom located at PCVS that gives current and past shelter residents the opportunity to continue or complete their high school education in a non-traditional setting.

Established in partnership with the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board (KPR), the Carriage House is part of Peterborough Alternative and Continuing Education (PACE) and is supervised by a KPR teacher, with support from a YES Classroom Support staff member.

Students can complete any Ontario Ministry of Education mandated core course, along with a range of options such as art, music, construction, and healthy living — moving them steadily toward high school completion. Several youth have completed their high school requirements with us and crossed the stage alongside other KPR students at graduation ceremonies!
