Youth Outreach

Youth Outreach

YES’ Youth Outreach Worker works to identify, develop and implement a personal plan based on youth’s own goals for personal independence.

They help navigate service systems and work to connect youth to relevant supports and resources in the community. Along the journey, youth receive emotional support, housing support, educational support, employment support, health support, legal support and more. In the community, the YOW will accompany youth to their appointments, whether it is with their landlord, addictions or mental health counselor, school counselor, Ontario Works representative or lawyer. Family support is available by being present when youth meet with a family member, or by equipping both sides of the relationship with the skills necessary to communicate and move forward together.

If you are or know a youth between the ages of 16-24, who would like support or you just want some further information, please contact Karen Scott at YES 705-748-3851 or by cell at 705-868-1781 (text is okay). You can also email at kscott@yesshelter.ca
